As long as one of your PhD mentors is an IPSTP Preceptor, you can apply.

Students will be notified within X days of their interview, usually by the end of May.

The IPSTP Fellowship covers most of your research assistantship, with a small contribution required from your IPSTP Preceptor. It also covers 60% of your tuition (up to 6 credits in the spring and fall semesters only). Fees and health insurance are also covered by the IPSTP.

Yes! Also 1-year fellowships are occasionally available (though not always). We encourage you to discuss your application with either of the IPSTP Directors to determine the best course of action before applying a second time.

While the training grant that supports the IPSTP requires that recipients be US citizens, a limited number of IPSTP fellowships are available for international students through matching funds provided by MSU. Please contact us prior to applying to determine if we are accepting non-US citizen applications this year. 

Every program is a little different, but most of the Biomedical Sciences PhD programs at MSU have an average time to degree of a little over 5 years. IPSTP Students average 5.25 years to completion.
